Past Responsibilities
This section highlights some of the positions of responsibilities held by me and the learnings gained from them.
President and Co-Founder - AlpZhi, Inc.
- Atlanta based high-tech start-up launched on 20th Nov, 2009.
- Applied for $20K NCIIA advanced E-team grants for funding research to increase efficiency of solar panel cells
- Applied for $150K NSF SBIR Phase-I grant to fund research on developing AlpZhi's fabrication process to manufacture micro-optical components.
- Awarded The Innovator's Award at the Georgia Tech Business Plan Competition.
Post Graduate Student Representative of Mechanical Engineering Department of IIT Bombay
- Successfully invoked the Right to Information Act to solve a chronic problem of delay in payroll processing for graduate students of IIT Bombay.
- Organised many Mathematics lecture series for Mechanical Engg. graduate students.
- Voiced student opinions to the department administrators while serving as a member of Department Post Graduate Committee
- Implemented the first ever democratic concept for student representation at the graduate level to further student opinion and strengthen support system for graduate students
